Taster Terms – For New Members

Monday Taster Terms are run throughout the academic year to allow New Members to join our club at any time. These taster terms allow students to become comfortable with the platforms we use. Students are placed at the appropriate level upon completion of their Taster Term.

With Kids Coder Club, your children will learn to code games, animations, interactive stories and art. They will learn fundamental programming concepts while having fun and making friends. Our goal is to give our students 21st-century skills. We provide your children with the building blocks they need for their future. Our Coding for Kids classes is designed for ages 7 to 18. We introduce your children to developing technologies, coding platforms, and best practices. All our students undergo Cyber Safety training. We run “Live Online” computing, which enormously benefits your child’s ICT understanding.

All students receive an introduction to Computer Science using our blended learning teaching techniques. We use software mixed with CS Unplugged and visual display methods to explore class material, ensuring all kids understand the material covered. Kids Coder Club is partnered with Computing At Schools and CyberSchool Ltd to provide our bespoke syllabus is engaging and progressive.

Post-Primary Seniors – The world we live in is more than ever about innovation. With this in mind, we plan to ensure all our post-primary students are exposed to several classes on Strategic Management – PESTEL and Michael Porter’s Five Forces to understand Marco and Microenvironments. Seniors classes will significantly assist students considering Computer Science as a college option.

They look forward eagerly to the class every week and have even attended Summer Camps run by the club which they both enjoyed immensely. She really enjoys it, the classes are fun and Trevor is just fantastic, what I really like is that it is structured with a syllabus and projects that they work on and complete, as well as Practise scripts that they can use at home. It is a fun class and Saoirse really enjoys it, I would recommend the Kids Coding Club to anyone with any interest in Coding or Computing, it has been great for her, she loves showing off what she learns each week with us! And she has never once asked to skip it!!! (a common occurrence with other activities!)

My son attends Trevor's Python class in the CBS Wexford at the moment. He really enjoys going and asks me in advance, have I signed him up to the next term. He has made friends with the other children in the class. They play games together in their own time via their laptops. The one thing that particularly impressed me was when my children were at the Coder Club Summer Camps, they get to go outside and play some games in the fresh air. Trevor is very accommodating and efficient to deal with. The classes are very good value for money. I would definitely recommend them to any child that has an interest in finding out more where computer programming is concerned.

He is 9 now and a few months ago he even decided he wanted to do his school project on his computer , he typed it up himself and was able to copy and paste pictures in . He loves the classes Trevor makes it very interesting they have designed their own games, use html and scratch.
